My Readings
Welcome to MyReadings. You must be very cool to be here. So am I,J. I like reading. I mainly like catching up magazines and something educational. I am also interested in history kind of reading. Whatever, now you will ask me what I read. Oki, oki. My favorites are news and novels, Serious ones.
As a novel "East of Eden" has been my favorite from a foreigner author, John Steinbeck. But probably the best ones are "Cayinizi Turkce mi Alirsiniz?" (Would you like your tea in Turkish?) of Baris Balcioglu and "Kumral Ada Mavi Tuna" from Buket Uzuner. Buket Uzuner is going forward to being one of the best neo-surrealist authors in Turkey. Whatever, this is my page not her's. Hmm, I also like George Bernard Shaw whom I will talk about later.
I said I like news a lot. They are not only educational, but also amusing. I am not a big fan of New York Times or Arkansas Democrat Gazette. I love Hurriyet best at home and Milliyet as well. Sabah also has our AFS big brother Salih Memecan. So I am pretty flexible in news and try to read as much as I can.
Magazines take another big part in my reading life. By the way as I say magazines I include comics like LeMan and LeManyak. I enjoy reading Tempo and Aktuel in Turkey. If you would ask me my favorite magazines they are probably PC Magazine and PC World. Also all other computer magazines are acceptable.
George Bernard Shaw. This stubborn and humble Irish man has affected my thoughts, I believe in a good way. His diction and language is just perfect as well as his style. He is a novelist, play author, music reviewer, politician and many other things also. The writer of Pygmalion, George Bernard Shaw, has rejected Oscar once. If you are more interested, there are several books about him. Go get one, J.Oki guys, lastly and mostly my favorite author is
Take care, stay cool...
